Parish News for Remembrance Sunday

November 6, 2025 by Oliver Baldwin in Weekly News

This Sunday we observe Remembrance Sunday. In the Gospel reading, Jesus comforts a grieving mother by raising her son from the dead. As we remember all who have died in war, let us find hope in the resurrection of Christ, the Prince of Peace.

Mass at 10.55am this Sunday
Please note the change of Mass time for this Sunday only so that the Act of Remembrance may be observed at 11 o’clock.

Music on Sunday
This Sunday the choir will sing the Requiem Mass by Gabriel Fauré.

Thank you!
A big thank you to those who provided food and helped at last Sunday’s Patronal Festival Mass. Many thanks also to Martin, Organist and Director of Music, for the wonderful music.

Thursday Healing Mass
The monthly Healing Mass will be celebrated next Thursday 13th November at noon. Experience the healing love of God through the ancient rites of Anointing with Holy Oil and Laying on of Hands with Prayer. After Mass we gather for lunch and a glass of wine for a suggested donation of £2.50. All welcome!

PCC Meeting
The next meeting of the PCC will be at midday next Sunday 16th November.

Monthly Requiem Mass
Every last Tuesday of the month, Mass is offered as a Requiem for the departed in our Chantry Book. The next Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 25th November at 6pm. If you would like to have a departed loved one remembered at the altar, please speak to Fr James.

Prayer of the Faithful
From Advent, which begins on Sunday 30th November, we will be renewing our prayer list of those who are sick and in need. Please let Fr James know if you would like someone to either remain on the list or be added.

Flowers in Church
Please give any cash donations to Lesley for flowers to help beautify our church.

Confessions
Fr James is available to hear your confession before any of the weekday masses. Please speak to him for more details.
