This Sunday is the 18th in Ordinary Time. In the Gospel reading Jesus warns us against placing all our value on material things but instead to lay up our treasure in heaven.  Click here to look up the scripture readings.

Music on Sunday
This Sunday the choir will sing the Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo by Haydn and the Ave Verum Corpus by Byrd.

Fr James on retreat
The Vicar will be away for a few days from the 11th August. Thank you to Fr Corbett from S.Silas for celebrating the masses on the 12th and 14th

Choral Evensong for the Assumption
On Sunday 17th August at 5pm we will mark the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Choral Evensong. Please put the date in your diary and come along for worship with superb music, followed by wine and cake.

Breakfast Church
From the 7th September there will a Sunday service for young families at 9am for 30mins with coffee and pastries for the grown-ups, please spread the word!
 
S.Mary Brookfield Patronal Festival
Sunday 7th September at 5pm Solemn Vespers followed by drinks and Monday 8th September at 7pm – Solemn Mass followed by supper Please support Fr Damian and the people of S.Mary’s

Midweek Masses
Coming to a quieter Mass in the week is a powerful way of deepening your spiritual connection with God and fellowship with one another. Fr James will be in church at these times for anyone who needs to speak with him.

Magnificat
August editions of Magnificat are available from this Sunday. These helpful books contain daily readings and prayers to support your spiritual life, including the lives of the saints and the readings at Mass. If you are interested, speak to Fr James or Fr Oliver.
