Parish News for the 1st Week of Advent
This Sunday is the 1st Sunday of Advent. In the Gospel reading, Jesus points ahead to his Second Coming at the End of Time. As we begin this season of preparation for the celebration of Christmas, let us heed his call to ‘stay awake’.

Music on Sunday
This Sunday the choir will sing the Missa brevis by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina and Agnus Dei ii.
Prayer of the Faithful
Advent begins on Sunday and we are renewing our prayer list for those who are sick and in need. If you would like to add someone to the list, please put the name on the sheet at the back of church, or speak to Fr Oliver.
Advent Carol Service
This Sunday 30th November at 6pm, enjoy an evening of choral music and Advent readings at S Mary Brookfield. All welcome!
Immaculate Conception
On Monday 8th December at 7pm, on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bishop Jonathan will celebrate a Solemn Mass at S Mary Brookfield to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the church’s consecration. Please put the date in your diary and go along to support. The setting will by the Coronation Mass by Mozart.
Advent at S Andrew Holborn
On Wednesday 10th December at 7pm, S Andrew Holborn are holding an Advent Carol Service. All welcome!
A Date for your Diary: Christmas Lunch and Carols
On Thursday 18th December, please join us for Mass at noon followed by Christmas Lunch and carol singing around the piano. We ask for a small donation of £3 for lunch or £5 for lunch with wine. Booking is essential. Please sign up at the back of church.
Magnificat Advent Book
The new Church Year begins on Advent Sunday, 30th November. The Magnificat Advent Book, which gives the Mass readings and a wealth of reflections and prayers for the season will be available soon. Please pick up a copy for a suggested donation of £5 or pay what you can.
