This Sunday is the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time. In the Gospel reading the Lord reminds us that the last will be first and the first will be last. Let us heed his call and strive to enter through the narrow door.

Music on Sunday
This Sunday the choir will sing the Communion Service in G by Francis Jackson and O sacrum convivium by William Byrd.
Monthly Requiem Mass
Every last Tuesday of the month, Mass is offered as a Requiem for the departed named in our Chantry Book. The next Requiem Mass will be celebrated this Tuesday 26th August at 6pm. If you would like to have a departed loved one remembered at the altar, please speak to Fr James.
Fr Gwyn Clement RIP
Fr Gwyn Clement, a retired priest who had ministered at S Mary Brookfield, died last week. Fr Gwyn’s Funeral Mass will be at S Mary’s at 1pm on Thursday 28th August. Please pray for the repose of his soul and for his family. Please note, there will be no lunch after Mass at All Hallows on that day.
‘On the Way to Sunday‘
Beginning on Saturday 6th September after the 10am Mass, we will gather for coffee and a weekly discussion group looking at a reading or a theme for the coming Sunday. Please see Fr Oliver for the reading material in advance.
Breakfast Church
From Sunday 7th September, there will be a 30-minute service for young families at 9am, with coffee and pastries for the grown-ups.
S.Mary Brookfield Patronal Festival
Sunday 7th September at 5pm Solemn Vespers followed by drinks and Monday 8th September at 7pm – Solemn Mass followed by supper Please support Fr Damien and the people of S.Mary’s.
PCC Meeting
The next PCC meeting will be held on Sunday 14th September at midday.

Magnificat books for September are now available. The book includes daily Mass readings, reflections and prayers. Please pick up a copy for a suggested donation of £5 or pay what you can.
