Parish News for the 3rd Week of Lent
This Sunday is the 3rd Sunday of Lent. In the Gospel reading, we hear of Jesus’ encounter with the woman at the well. Like her, let us go to Jesus for the water of life.

Music on Sunday
This Sunday the choir will sing the Missa quarti toni by Tomás Luis de Victoria and Miserere mei, Deus by Gregorio Allegri.
Finding God in Lent
A 30-minute study group concludes this Sunday after coffee in the Good Shepherd Chapel. This week we will be looking at the Examen: Finding God in your day. All welcome!
Gospel Oak Chorale
This Sunday there will be an open rehearsal in church all afternoon with a free performance of popular choral music at 6.30pm. Donations will go to the London Churches Refugee Fund.
Wine and Wisdom
Join us for a new theological discussion over a glass of wine. We will meet at 7pm on Wednesday 11th March to discuss ‘Why do we exist?’ All welcome! Please speak to Fr Oliver for the reading material.
Choral Evensong for Mothering Sunday
Join us next Sunday 15th March at 5pm for a special Choral Evensong in celebration of Mothering Sunday. The choir will sing Collegium Regale by Charles Wood. The service will be followed by refreshments, including Simnel cake and fizz. All welcome!
Lent Lecture 2026: ‘Clocking Longitude’
This year marks the 250th anniversary of John Harrison, whose solution to the ‘longitude problem’ revolutionised how we measure time. Historian Lester Hillman will share the captivating story of Harrison’s achievement in an entertaining lecture on Sunday 22nd March at 12pm. Entry is free to all.

There are two spaces left for the weekend pilgrimage to Walsingham in June. If you are interested, please let Fr Oliver know. Details of our midweek pilgrimage from 24th-28th August will be released in due course.
