Parish News for the Fifth Week in Lent

This Sunday marks the beginning of Passiontide, the final two weeks of Lent. To mark this sombre season the images of Jesus and the Saints in church are veiled in purple, a traditional custom symbolising the hidden divinity of Christ as he approaches his time of suffering.

Music this Sunday
The Choir will sing the Missa Aeterna Christi Munera, by Palestrina

Holy Hour for Passiontide
This Sunday  from 4pm there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the chapel. Do drop in during this hour for some quiet time with the Lord.

Anniversary!
Tuesday 8th April marks the first anniversary of Fr James as Vicar of this Parish and everyone is welcome for drinks after the 6pm to celebrate.

Monthly Healing Mass
Thursday 10th April 12pm. Come and experience the healing Love of God through the ancient rites of anointing with Holy Oil and Laying on of Hands with Prayer

Chrism Mass Tuesday 15th April
All are welcome to attend Bishop Jonathan’s Chrism Mass. Each year in Holy Week the Bishop gathers all his priests to renew their Ordination Vows and the Holy Oils for the year are blessed. It is always a moving mass so please do come. 11am in S.Andrew’s Church Holborn. Speak to Fr James for more details.

Monday Mass
After Easter the Monday morning mass will be discontinued, this will be replaced by a Saturday morning Mass from September.

Easter Octave Church Closure
Decca Records are recording in church 22nd – 24th April. Mass on Tuesday and Wednesday as normal, NO MASS on Thursday 24th
