Parish News for the First Week in Lent

March 6, 2025 by James Elston in Weekly News

This Sunday is the First in Lent.  In the Gospel reading Jesus is tempted in the wilderness. All of us are tempted to wander from the path of love and to be tormented by our own demons. Lent is the time in the church year when we confront these things, but we can only do so in the strength of Christ.

The Bishop will be coming to celebrate and preach so PLEASE COME TO MASS!!!

Music this Sunday
The Choir will sing Missa Brevis Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.

Lent Groups
At 11.30 on Sunday we will meet in the Good Shepherd Chapel for part one of our course on prayer and how to try different things to refresh our prayer live. All Welcome

Lent Lecture 2025
Sunday 23rd March 11.30am

What profiteth man? The Psychology of Money
We are really privileged to have Professor Adrian Furnham with us for our inaugural Lent Lecture. Adrian has written nearly hundred books and is renowned as a popular speaker across the world.  His talk promises to be informative and entertaining.
Please put the date in your diary!

Electoral Roll
Our roll of church members is due for complete renewal this year which means that everyone needs to complete a new form to remain on the roll. Amongst other things the number on the roll indicates to the powers-that-be how each church is doing, so please help by signing a form after Mass.

Please support your church
All Hallows is open everyday for the whole community, we offer hospitality after weekday masses and our Sunday worship is beautified with wonderful music. Please support your church by giving regularly click here to find our more.
